How ChopNow collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data.

Effective date: 10 October 2026Applies to the ChopNow, ChopNow Vendor and ChopNow Rider apps

At a glance. We collect only the information we need to take, prepare, deliver and pay for orders. We never sell your personal data. Card and Mobile Money details are entered with Paystack, so we never see or store your full card number or PIN. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how CHOPNOW ("ChopNow", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the ChopNow app, the ChopNow Vendor app and the ChopNow Rider app (together, the "Apps") and our website at www.chopnow.store. It applies to customers, vendors, riders and visitors to our website.

1. Who we are

1.1ChopNow is a food and grocery delivery platform operating in Ghana. The Apps are available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

1.2The data controller responsible for your personal data is CHOPNOW, a business registered in Ghana under Registration No. BN319190926, with its principal place of business in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

1.3We process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable laws of Ghana.

2. Personal data we collect

2.1Account information. When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address and phone number, and a password. Your password is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form, and we cannot read it.

2.2Customers. Delivery addresses, map pins and delivery instructions such as house number, floor or directions; orders, items, amounts paid, tips, ratings, reviews, problem reports and refund requests; and vendors you save as favourites.

2.3Vendors. Business name, owner name, contact details, business address, region, district and map location; menus, prices, photographs and opening status; payout account details and the account name confirmed by Paystack; and records of earnings, payouts, subscriptions and featured listings.

2.4Riders. Profile photograph, vehicle type, city or town and region; the type and number of your identity document (Ghana Card or Voter ID); driving licence and insurance documents where your region requires them; live location while you are online or on a delivery; and payout account details, earnings, bonuses, tips and delivery history.

2.5Support. Messages and attachments you send to our support team.

2.6Technical and security information. Your device's notification token, so we can send order updates, and records such as sign in attempts and IP addresses, which we use to keep accounts secure and prevent fraud.

2.7Information from partners. Paystack tells us whether a payment, refund or payout succeeded and confirms the account name linked to a payout account. Our messaging providers tell us whether a verification code was delivered.

3. Location data

3.1Customers. We use your location when you choose a delivery address or place a pin on the map. We use it to show the vendors that deliver to you, calculate the delivery fee and guide your rider. We do not track customers in the background.

3.2Riders. While you are online or carrying an order, the ChopNow Rider app shares your location so that we can offer you nearby deliveries and customers can follow their order. This continues when the app is in the background, and your phone shows a notification or indicator for as long as it is active. Location sharing stops when you go offline.

3.3Vendors. We store the map location of your business so customers can find you and riders can collect orders.

3.4You can turn off location access at any time in your phone's settings. Some features, such as finding vendors near you or receiving delivery offers, will not work without it.
