Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply to customers, vendors and riders using ChopNow.

Effective date: 10 October 2026Applies to the ChopNow, ChopNow Vendor and ChopNow Rider apps

Please read these Terms carefully. They form a binding agreement between you and ChopNow. Part A applies to everyone. Part B applies to customers, Part C to vendors and Part D to riders. Part E contains general terms that apply to all users. By creating an account, placing an order or otherwise using ChopNow, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Part A

Terms for all users

1. Definitions

1.1In these Terms:

2. About ChopNow

2.1ChopNow operates an online marketplace that connects Customers with Vendors and Riders across Ghana.

2.2Vendors are independent businesses. They prepare, package and sell their own food and goods, and they are responsible for those items.

2.3Riders are independent contractors who choose when to work and which deliveries to accept. They are not employees of ChopNow.

2.4ChopNow provides the Apps, collects payments on behalf of Vendors and Riders, pays out their earnings, and provides customer support to everyone involved in an Order.

3. Eligibility and accounts

3.1Customers must be at least 16 years old. Customers aged 16 or 17 may use ChopNow only with the permission of a parent or guardian. Vendors and Riders must be at least 18 years old.

3.2You must give accurate and complete information when you register and keep it up to date.

3.3Each person may hold one account for each role. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred or shared.

3.4You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your password private and tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. Acceptable use

4.1You must not:

5. Ratings and reviews

5.1Ratings and reviews must be honest and based on a real Order. We may remove reviews that are false, offensive or unrelated to the Order, and we may display reviews in the Apps.

6. Communications

6.1You agree to receive service messages about your account, Orders, payments and security by push notification, SMS and email. These messages form part of the service.

7. Suspension and closure

7.1We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, puts other users at risk or is linked to fraud. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you the reason.

7.2You may close your account at any time in the App or by following the steps at www.chopnow.store/delete-account. Closing an account does not affect Orders, payments or obligations that arose before it was closed.

Part B

Terms for customers

8. Placing an Order

8.1The Apps show the Vendors that deliver to your selected location. Delivery is available only within the distance shown in the App.

8.2Your Order is placed once your payment is confirmed by Paystack, and it is then sent to the Vendor to accept.

8.3Delivery and preparation times shown in the App are estimates.

8.4Please make sure your address, map pin and phone number are correct and that you can be reached when your Order arrives.

9. Prices, fees and payment

9.1Prices are set by Vendors and shown in Ghana Cedis (GH₵). Before you pay, the App shows the price of your items, a service fee and, for delivery Orders, a delivery fee based on distance. Pickup Orders have no delivery fee.

9.2At busy times or in bad weather, a surge amount may be added to the delivery fee. It is always shown as a separate line before you pay.

9.3Tips are optional, and 100% of every tip goes to your Rider.

9.4Payments are made by card or Mobile Money through Paystack. ChopNow does not store your full card number or PIN.

10. Delivery PIN

10.1Each Order has a delivery PIN. Give it to your Rider, or show it to the Vendor for a pickup Order, only after you have received your Order. Giving the PIN confirms that the Order was delivered to you.

11. Cancellations

11.1You may cancel a paid Order for a full refund at any time before the Vendor accepts it.

11.2Once the Vendor has accepted your Order, it cannot be cancelled, because preparation has started.

12. Problems with an Order and refunds

12.1If something is wrong with your Order, report it in the App within the reporting period shown there, with as much detail as possible.

12.2We review every report. If a refund is approved, the full refund is returned to your original payment method. The time it takes to reach you depends on your bank or Mobile Money provider.

12.3Refund decisions are made by ChopNow after reviewing the Order. False or abusive reports may lead to the suspension of your account.

13. Allergies and dietary needs

13.1Vendors are responsible for the information they give about their items, including ingredients and allergens. If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, check the item details and add a note to your Order. ChopNow cannot guarantee that any item is free from a particular allergen.

Part C

Terms for vendors

14. Joining ChopNow

14.1Vendors must apply and be approved by ChopNow before selling through the Apps. We may decline an application at our discretion.

14.2You must be legally permitted to sell food or goods in Ghana and must hold every licence and permit your business requires, including those issued by your Metropolitan, Municipal or District Assembly and the Food and Drugs Authority. We may ask to see them at any time.

15. Your responsibilities

15.1As a Vendor, you must:

15.2You are the seller of the food and goods you list and are responsible for their quality and safety.

16. Commission, subscriptions and featured listings

16.1ChopNow charges a commission on each Order. Your current rate is shown in the ChopNow Vendor app. We will give you notice in the App before any change to your rate takes effect.

16.2Subscriptions and featured listings are optional paid services. Their prices, duration and benefits are shown before you buy.

17. Payouts

17.1Your share of each completed Order is credited to your ChopNow balance. You may cash out to a Mobile Money or bank account in your name, verified through Paystack.

17.2Minimum and maximum amounts, processing times and other limits apply as shown in the App. Larger payouts may require manual approval.

17.3For your security, changing your payout account requires your password, and once changed, your payout account may be locked against further changes for a period.

18. Refunds and responsibility

18.1When a Customer is refunded, ChopNow reviews who was responsible. If the Vendor was responsible, the Vendor's share of that Order is deducted from the Vendor's balance. If the Rider or ChopNow was responsible, the Vendor keeps its share.

19. Your content

19.1You keep ownership of the photographs and content you upload. You grant ChopNow a free, non exclusive licence to display them in the Apps and to use them to promote your shop on ChopNow for as long as you are a Vendor.

Part D

Terms for riders

20. Independent contractor relationship

20.1Riders are independent contractors and not employees, workers or agents of ChopNow. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship.

20.2You decide when to go online and when to stop. There are no fixed shifts and no minimum hours.

20.3You provide and maintain your own vehicle, phone and mobile data, and you are free to work for other platforms or businesses.

20.4You are responsible for your own taxes and for any licence, registration and insurance the law requires for you and your vehicle.

21. Delivery offers

21.1You may accept or decline any delivery offer. Declining an offer carries no penalty.

21.2If several offers in a row go unanswered, the App may set you offline so that Customers are not kept waiting. You may go back online at any time.

22. Pay

22.1You are paid for each completed delivery, based on a base fee and the distance travelled, as shown in the ChopNow Rider app. You may also earn surge shares, bonuses and 100% of Customer tips.

22.2You may cash out to a Mobile Money account in your name, verified through Paystack, within the limits shown in the App.

22.3If a Customer is refunded because of the Rider's fault, the pay for that delivery is reversed. If the amount has already been cashed out, it is deducted from your future earnings. You may ask ChopNow to review the decision.

23. ChopNow branded gear

23.1ChopNow offers branded gear, such as a reflective vest and helmet, at a price shown before purchase. You may pay in full or, where you agree in writing, in instalments deducted from your earnings over an agreed period.

23.2Buying, wearing or using ChopNow gear is entirely optional. Choosing not to does not affect the offers you receive or your pay.

23.3If you use ChopNow gear, wear it only while delivering for ChopNow and never in a way that could mislead the public or harm the ChopNow name.

24. Conduct and safety

24.1As a Rider, you must:

24.2Your location is shared while you are online or on a delivery, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Part E

27.2To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, ChopNow is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with any Order is limited to the amount paid for that Order.

27.3Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Ghanaian law, or any right you have as a consumer.

28. Responsibility for misuse

28.1You are responsible for any loss or claim that ChopNow suffers as a result of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Apps or your breach of the law.

29. Intellectual property

30. Events beyond our control

30.1ChopNow is not responsible for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, flooding, power or network outages, civil unrest or actions of public authorities.

31. Changes to these Terms

31.1We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. If we make a significant change, we will let you know in the App or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use ChopNow after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

32. Governing law and disputes

32.1If you have a complaint, please contact us first at support@chopnow.store so we can try to resolve it quickly and fairly.

32.2These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

33. General

33.1These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms shown in the Apps for a particular service, form the entire agreement between you and ChopNow.

33.2If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remains in full effect.

33.3If we do not enforce any of our rights immediately, we may still enforce them later.

33.4You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer our rights to a successor business, and we will tell you if we do.
